Kilkee & Loop Head Peninsula
Kilkee has long been one of Co. Clare's main holiday resorts, with shops, some fine restaurants, bars, a spa and an indoor water pool.
The town offers quite a few natural amenities around its horseshoe-shaped bay. The safe sheltered sandy beach is protected by Duggerna Reef, a natural wonder itself with some large and small rock pools full of marine life.
Breathtaking cliff walks offer splendid scenery, but without the hustle and commerce which you find at the Cliffs of Moher. The Cliff scenery all along to Loop Head Lighthouse is one of Ireland's greatest natural attractions. The Loop Head Scenic Drive will take you to numerous scenic outlooks. Dolphins, whales and seals appear regularly on and around Loop Head Peninsula. A variety of rare birds, like skuas, storm petrels and shearwaters can be seen flying past and attract birdwatchers from near and far. Loop Head Lighthouse is open for visitors in the summer.
The atlantic coast offers a number of angling spots, a beautiful golf links course is located in walking distance from the house. Please read more about the activities on the next page.
